I have used the e-Mod. Com iDVS™ eMotion viewer frequently in my seventh grade math classroom and have found it to be a valuable resource.  Having the ability to easily pause a video and highlight key features ensures that all students benefit from the concept being presented.  Furthermore, being able to insert comments or questions and save these changes to appear automatically when sharing the video with students is extremely valuable.

Amazingly, the students think it is part of the video when I insert a math problem to be solved, and they cannot wait to find a solution.  Since the video, automatically pauses at the point where I have inserted my question, I am free to move about the room, monitor the students’ work, and assist when necessary, while the question is being displayed.  This also means that I can control how much time is allowed for students to solve the problem, answer questions, and even discuss the process before continuing with the video.

The e-Mod iDVS eMotion viewer helps teachers to make videos used in the classroom more interactive for students.  Thank you.

To Whom it may concern:

As the tech coordinator, I am the one who downloads the videos for the teachers.  So far the fifth grade teacher has utilized the videos on "paragraph" development for her Language Arts class.

The Social Studies teacher has used several videos depicting the Civil War, and the Science teacher has utilized the Volcanoes and Earthquakes videos dealing with changing climate.

As the computer teacher, I have used Squirrel Woodlands with the students from grades 2 to 8 and taught the students how to use the tools that accompany the program.

And on Adult Education Night the 7th grade tutors taught the adults how the program worked.  Everyone really likes the ease with which they can receive movies for their classes, and the students really love putting annotations on them.
